Ger Loughnane has used his usually cheerfully controversial Star column to say that 'accidental hurler' Podge Collins will likely regret his decision to play for the footballers following Davy's ultimatum.
However he is unsurprised by the decision, saying that the family are steeped in football and he fell into hurling in school.
I think leaving hurling is a big loss to Podge and he’ll realise that down the line. When you leave a sport for a while, it’s very hard to get back to the standard needed to shine at inter-county level.
