In Clare's run to the All-Ireland quarter-final - footbll that is - Podge Collins' dual star status received much of the media attention.
An excellent footballer Collin may be but the foundation on which Clare's success has been built is at midfield. Cathal O'Connor and, in particular, Gary Brennan have been superb for the Banner.
Brennan drove Clare forward against Roscommon on Saturday as they progressed to their first ever All-Ireland quarter-final.
On the Sunday Game, after their broadcast of match highlights, Brennan's perfromance was highlighted by Pat Spillane and Dermot Earley.
Spillane believes that if All-Stars were being handed out right now, Gary Brennan would be an undoubted recipient.
If the All-Star team was being selected at the moment, Gary Brennan would be an automatic choice. Along with Peter Harte, they're the two best players in this year's Championship.
Spillane also labeled Brennan a 'superb footballer'.
