Galway are set to take on Monaghan this weekend as the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship reaches the preliminary quarter-final stage. Here's everything you need to know about Galway v Monaghan.
For Galway, they will be hoping to continue their unbeaten Sam Maguire campaign so far after just missing out on qualifying for the quarter-finals. The Tribesmen got their All-Ireland campaign off to a good start with a 2-14 to 0-15 win at home to Derry before claiming a tight 1-12 to 0-11 win away to Westmeath in Mullingar.
This led to a situation where Pádraic Joyce's side had to win their final group game to qualify for the quarter-finals automatically. An injury-time Stefan Campbell point would crush those ambitions as the game would finish 1-12 to 0-15, making it two consecutive years that Armagh prevented Galway from an automatic quarter-final place.

In Monaghan's case, they will be looking to continue their winning form as their championship has continually improved week after week. The Oriel County began their Sam Maguire campaign with a 0-24 to 1-11 loss away to Kerry, before battling back from a five-point deficit at home against Louth to draw 2-10 to 2-10.
This set up a situation where Monaghan had to get at least a draw against Meath to confirm their place in the preliminary quarter-finals. Vinney Corey's men would get the win 1-17 to 1-14 but Monaghan would finish third in Group 4 behind Louth on points difference.
In their Division One match in March, Galway would cruise to victory over Monaghan in Clones with a final score of 3-12 to 0-14.
