Galway is set to take on Derry this weekend as the round-robin stage of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship gets underway. Here's everything you need to know ahead of Galway v Derry.

For Galway, they will be looking to keep their winning momentum going after capturing their third Connacht title in a row earlier this month. The Tribesmen got their championship campaign underway with a dominant 5-21 to 0-09 win away to London in the quarter-final, before edging past Sligo 1-13 to 0-14 in the semi-final. Pádraic Joyce's men then faced Mayo in the final at Pearse Stadium. In an incredibly tight affair, a point off Conor Gleeson's free in the fifth minute of added time gave Galway the title 0-16 to 0-15.

For Derry, they will be looking to bounce back from a slightly disappointing Ulster championship campaign. After winning the Division One title against Dublin in March, Mickey Harte's side failed to retain their Ulster crown after falling to Donegal 4-11 to 0-17 at home in Celtic Park.

The match will be the second time the Oak Leaf County travel to Pearse Stadium this year. In their Division One league fixture in February, Derry came out on top with a 3-10 to 0-11 victory.
