One of the things that separates this Galway side from others is their fitness and physicality. It's obvious watching matches, but it's crystal clear in this photo of three Portumna players - Joe Canning, Andy Smyth and Damien Hayes(?). If Liam McCarthy's were given out for Gold's Gym-style muscle flexing, Kilkenny would be laughed out of the park.
