It looks like "paintgate" has finally been resolved. The Galway County Board have been forced to apologise and reimburse spectators who sat in wet paint at Tuam Stadium during Galway's football semi-finals last weekend.

At least 25 spectators left the stadium red-arsed after placing their rear-ends on freshly painted wooden seats. The paint had not yet dried which caused damage to both the clothing and the egos of the supporters. It seems the board misjudged the time it would take for the oil-based paint to dry.

The county board had kept their plans to rectify "paintgate" under wraps until this weekend but apparently, they are going to start rolling out the compensation to the aggrieved spectators soon.
