The crowds were lining up outside Innovate Wexford Park three hours before throw-in this afternoon, and, for the Galway fans making the journey, they didn't have to wait too long after 5 pm for things to heat up.
The reigning All-Ireland winners came into this evening's game knowing that a win would almost certainly be enough for another Leinster final appearance.
Already one-point ahead, Pádraic Mannion went roaming through Wexford's centre. Moving forward with serious intent, a wonderful one-two with Johnny Glynn left him with only the 'keeper to beat.
Pulling a great point-blank save out of Wexford's Mark Fanning, Conor Whelan was quickest to react; sliding a shot beyond Fanning to give Galway a four-point lead after only 90 seconds.
Although Wexford have steadied themselves and put some scores on the board, Galway's relentlessness hasn't waned. You can watch the well-worked goal below.
