Galway delivered a shock decades in waiting yesterday when they dumped Dublin out of the All-Ireland Football Championship at the Quarter-Final stages 0-17 to 0-16.
While Dublin fans will be aggrieved at what seems certain to be the end of the capital's most fruitful era of football, Saturday was all about the Tribesmen and how an injury-ridden side who had been hobbling through the league, overcame Dublin in Championship football for the first time in over 90 years.
As you'd expect, the upset had everywhere from Croke Park to Salthill in fits of celebration, with Galway Bay FM's Ollie Turner and Barry Cullinane delivering an absolutely magic thirty seconds of commentary at the final whistle.

As is traditional, a major upset in the GAA wouldn't be complete without the gem that is local Irish radio - and Galway Bay FM did not disappoint, with thirty seconds that had absolutely everything, including Ollie Turner delivering a sensational one-liner on Taylor Swift.
It's the greatest day that Galway football has seen in over two decades, and every man, woman and child stands to applause Pádraic Joyce and his gallant Galway men. Sweet mother of Jesus they have pulled off the unthinkable.
Forget about Taylor Swift - Shake it off in the Aviva and come over here to Croke Park because you're witnessing the West awake.

There's no doubt about it, Turner was right the West is well and truly alive. Pádraic Joyce's men looked all but defeated heading in at half-time. Dublin had the better start and led by a comfortable four points, having delivered a few ruthless assaults on the Tribesmen.
However, Galway prevailed to defy the odds, with Shane Walsh and Dylan McHugh proving crucial to turning the tide giving themselves a one-point lead heading down the home straight.
While Dublin had their share of chances to level the game in the dying moments, Galway held on to deliver their supporters one of the greatest days in living memory for Galway football.
While the result will likely spell the end of an era for Dublin football and their unprecedented run of success, Galway now find themselves in an All-Ireland football semi-final with the draw set to take place, if necessary, this evening.
