Ladies and Gentlemen, we bring you, courtesy of TG4 and the Cuala Ultras, the GAA Thunder Clap.
It's a curious concept, Ultras in the GAA. It's something we very much associate with Italian football and the bare-chested, menacing individuals who exert actual influence over the goings-on of clubs. But Cuala GAA in Dublin have formed their own Ultras group, to great effect. As Barry O'Seanain outlined in a great piece on Cuala yesterday, they even have an honorary president, young Tom Murdoch, who was appointed last Monday.
The Cuala Ultras were specifically thanked by captain Oisín Gough after today's Leinster SHC final, and unsurprisingly so. They were a vocal and ever-present source of support for the side and a rare but refreshing sight in GAA circles, where the height of supporter chanting tends to be Dublin's 'Come on you boys in blue' or sporadic outbursts of 'Tipp Tipp Tipp' from fans of, er, Tipp.
One notable moment produced by the Ultras was the 'Thunder Clap', which has generally been replicated all around the world since the Iceland fans performed it during the Euros.
However it's still hard to believe that it has found its way into the GAA (starting with Westmeath fans during the summer at Croke Park against Dublin). We're not sure quite what to make of it, but it's harmless and funny nonetheless.
Here, it all starts with a Viking-sounding horn, though maybe that's just a coincidence.
Keep an eye out too for the Cuala version of 'Will Grigg's On Fire', which starts after Colm Cronin's goal (about 2:08 in).
