A lot was made of the supposed tactics that Mayo players ruffled Dublin feathers in the tunnel before the drawn All-Ireland final.
Now, the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) is looking at the incidents ahead of the game, including why the teams emerged from their dressing rooms late, and onto the pitch at the same time - as well as the clash between Keith Higgins and Michael Darragh Macauley on the field before the game.
Dublin were due out on the pitch at 2.56 pm, with Mayo to follow two minutes later. However, the Dubs didn't enter the field until 3.02pm which has set them up for a fine from the CCCC.
While John Casey of Midwest Radio detailed what he saw from the Hogan stand looking into the tunnel, Mayo manager Stephen Rochford played down the incident:
We were detailed to come out second. I think we went out a minute after we were supposed to. Just in case anyone is going to look into it: coincidental. Nothing went into it. These things happen, ye can nail that on the head.
According to the Irish Examiner, neither team are likely to face any sanction for the scuffles, but face the threat of being fined for contravening match-day schedule.
