Ballygunner have been crowned Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship winners for the third year on the spin, with GAA fans blown away by some of their play in the 2-24 to 0-17 victory over Clonlara in the final this afternoon.
The Waterford kingpins entered this fixture as heavy favourites, with many feeling that their dominance at provincial level was set to continue as they lined up against the Clare side.
Right from the outset of the game, it always looked likely to be a comfortable game for the defending champions.

GAA fans wowed by Ballygunner goal in Munster final win
Ballygunner would score two brilliant goals in the first half, the first of which came via a top class finish from Dessie Hutchinson.

The second one was even better.
It was a top class team move from the Waterford side, with Kevin Mahony applying the finishing touch.

Sensational stuff.
Quite a few GAA fans came away massively impressed with that particular piece of play.
Scored one of the best team goals I’ve ever seen in a game of hurling, became the first side ever to win three Munster titles in a row, never even had to come out of second gear. 10/10 Ballygunner.

What a 2nd goal for Ballygunner.
Brilliant possession, short passes, the crossfield ball by Hutchinson and the finish by K Mahony.

It always looked likely to be a relatively comfortable win for Ballygunner from that point onwards, something that turned out to be the case.
They would go on to run as 13-point winners to secure their third consecutive Munster crown. They will face Galway's St Thomas in the All-Ireland semi-final in the new year.
Speaking to TG4 after the game, man-of-the-match Peter Hogan said this latest triumph was testament to the hard work carried out at all levels of the club in recent years.

It's a massive achievement. It's a testament to all the work that players, management, and everyone in the club is doing at the moment.
We're absolutely delighted to get over the line. There was no mention of three in-a-rows, it was all about the next game. Really when you're looking back now, it's a massive achievement.
Considering the form they have displayed in recent times, it would take a brave soul to bet against Ballygunner going on to claim All-Ireland honours in the months ahead.
