All-Ireland final day hasn't quite been the same in recent years, with the removal of the minor games before the two senior deciders a tradition that quite a few GAA fans were not thrilled to lose.
The last time the minor finals were held on those dates in Croke Park was 2019, and having been removed during the coronavirus pandemic, they have yet to make a return.
Seeing the best young up-and-coming players in the country ahead of the showpiece event in both codes always added to the occasion, with the stars of tomorrow showcasing their skills in front of a sizeable crowd at GAA HQ.
While it currently looks unlikely that the minor games will return on All-Ireland day, it seems considerations are being made about holding another game on those dates.

GAA considering adding All-Ireland final curtain-raiser
The Irish Examiner are reporting the GAA are considering holding inter-provincial games (otherwise known as the Railway Cup) as curtain-raisers for the All-Ireland finals in the years ahead.
The Railway Cup will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027, and while it has not been held since 2016, it could be reintroduced in a new setting.
The games between the four provinces were previously held at the end of the year, with the competition ultimately being abandoned due to a lack of interest from the general public. However, seeing the best players from around the country take part in a game ahead of the All-Ireland decider would certainly be an interesting prospect.
The Railway Cup is a great tradition in the GAA, meaning bringing it back and holding the finals as a curtain-raiser for the All-Ireland deciders is something quite a few people would be in favour of.
It would certainly be a fine way to mark the centenary of the competition later this decade.
