Perhaps this was foreshadowed with backlash towards the GAA over the Jamie Carragher farce in Longford, but a number of highly unpopular decisions were made at the GAA Congress this weekend.
From issues like the Sky GAA deal, allowing other sports on grounds, changing the minor age and introducing the mark rule without a trial has really annoyed a lot of people.
Just goes to show what county boards think about clubs. Replays and AI dates same. All about the money. #showerof..... #GAAcongress16

The mark would not slow the game down any more than criss crossing the pitch with 10987 hand passes does #GAA

Club fixtures are a bigger issue than the 'mark' yet the latter is passed. Representatives out of touch with grass roots #GAAcongress16

Motion to open Croke Park and all county grounds to other sports has failed as it only got 23.5% support. #GAAcongress16

So the new rules come into a affect in 30days time with no trial run. What an absolute joke! No consideration for the players #GAAcongress16

Not sure if I agree with new Minor & U21 changes. Does it really help player burnout? #GAAcongress16

This Congress illustrates how deeply unprincipled the GAA has become. How low can we go?
