Covid-19 is everywhere. And as Ireland comes to grips with the disease, the reality is that many people we know will contract the virus. Sports stars like Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mikel Arteta and Rudy Gobert have all tested positive for the disease in the last week. Former Dublin hurler Michael Carton is the first Irish sportsperson we know to test postive for the virus.

Carton revealed his medical situation on Twitter this morning in a series of tweets sent from a hospital.

Carton, who works as a fireman, was one of the great characters in the Dublin hurling team that Anthony Daly brought to an All-Ireland hurling semifinal in 2014. It's great to hear his condition is improving and we hope his recovery continues.
