Sunday's game was such a thrill ride, it was difficult to identify the players who stood out from the crowd. We eventually plucked four nominees from the 30+ on show.
Jonny Cooper, in smashing form early in the game, garnered 13% of the vote. Dean Rock was unerring on the frees and chipped over a couple of points from play also. He secured 18%.
Paul Geaney had the whole of the Kerry/anti-Dublin vote to himself. Kerry's man of the moment in the forward line racked up a full one third of the votes hitting 33% and coming in just 4% behind the winner.
But no, the winner was the Kerry Slayer himself, the man whose knack of scoring crucial late scores against Kerry has grown into a full-blown fetish.
Formerly a super sub but now universally regarded as a super player plain and simple, Kevin McManamon took home the Man of the Match award. One of his crucial interventions late in the game this time around may have provoked controversy but there was little argument with the other one, as he clipped over a late point to help the Dubs nose in front in the final seconds.
He wins with 37% of the vote.
