Teemore Shamrocks were crowned Fermanagh Intermediate champions yesterday, defeating Derrylin O'Connell's on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-6 last night.

The most successful club in the county, Teemore Shamrocks have not experienced the level of success they are accustomed to over the last couple of decades. The last of their 21 senior county titles came all the way back in 2005, with the club finding themselves relegated in the years that followed.

While they would win the intermediate title in 2012, that was the last of their major titles at adult level until this game.

They will be hoping to build on that moving forward, with their U17 side having also been crowned county champions yesterday.

Coming from a small parish of just over 500 people, Teemore Shamrocks are doing incredibly well with the resources at their disposal. With a small batch of players to choose from, their dressing room is full of players with strong links to the local community.

That includes a father and son, with Damien and Aaron Lee both starting in the team that won yesterday's final.

Speaking to the Fermanagh Herald after the game, Damien summed up how special it was to lift a county title alongside his son, who only graduated from minor level last year.

It means absolutely everything to Teemore, to the club. We haven't won anything at senior in a long time. 2013 we won Division 2, 2012 we won senior. We've had some serious hard years. I have been hanging on for this, I really have...

They do not, they do not (days like this coming around often). I was saying to you last week, I haven't thought about me and Aaron playing together, I was desperate to win this for them, really desperate. I'm over the moon, it's very special...

He's been in my hip at football since he was no size. I've a picture of me and him going out to one. I've another lad on my hip now, I might have to play until I'm 51! I've a picture of me and him going to the last intermediate final, in the same getup as me.

In fairness to him and all the young lads, they have really put it in this year and really developed. We only had two coming from his year of minor, they came through last year and played hard.

We haven't got a pile of numbers at underage now. We needed these guys.

If you had of asked me at the start of last year, I don't know if I would have said Aaron and Jack will step up, but they stepped up alongside the other boys.

We need that because we don't have the depth, it's coming now. To be fair, the young boys won that for us.

A special day for the Lee family and Teemore as a whole.

The club's twitter account would also share a picture of a young Aaron Lee from the last time Teemore won the Fermanagh intermediate crown just over a decade ago.

Some going.

Judging by Damien's comments above, he has no intention of hanging up the boots anytime soon.
