Balls.ie's decision to hire a dedicated Royal Correspondent is beginning to pay off. Last week, we brought you the news that Prince William intends to call his next son after Ireland's one-time golden son, Jack Grealish.
We've another Royal-related yarn for you this week, as we understand that former Tyrone captain and manager Eugene McKenna has been invited to the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
McKenna's wife, Bernie, was chosen to attend thanks to her work with Castlecaulfield Horticultural Society. The Society is a runaway success: winning the Ulster in Bloom and Britain in Bloom titles and was recognised internationally at the Communities in Bloom competition in Canada.
As a result, she is among the 1,200 community leaders who have been selected to watch bride, groom and guests arrive at the ceremony at Windsor Castle.
She confirmed to the Belfast Telegraph that she will attend with her husband Eugene, who won three All-Stars and three Ulster titles with Tyrone in the 1980s.
McKenna later managed Tyrone, taking the helm along with Art McRory in 1994, and was on the sideline for the All-Ireland final defeat to Dublin the following year. He and McRory stepped down in 1996 after a Championship exit to Meath but returned in 2000 and the pair guided Tyrone to their first national success: the National League in 2002.
But the championship ended in defeat to Sligo, for which McKenna and McRory were ousted and replaced by Mickey Harte.
