Mountbellew/Moylough won their first Galway Senior Football Championship title since 1986 with a comprehensive victory over Corofin on Sunday.
It was a 1-12 to 0-9 win for Mountbellew over a Corofin side which won seven consecutive county titles between 2013 and 2019. They also won four All-Ireland club finals during that time.
Mountbellew had lost five county finals since 2009, four of them to Corofin.
Six minutes into the second half, Man of the Match Eoin Finnterty struck a crucial blow for his side. After an incisive move following a turnover, Finnterty made no mistake to score a goal which put Mountbellew eight points ahead.

"Relief, just total relief," Finnerty told TG4 after the game.
"So many bad days losing finals. Some lads have played in eight finals here. To finally get over the line is just pure relief.
"Corofin are a super team. When we were losing to them, they were All-Ireland champions, and we had to remember that. We had a young team at the time, but we're men now, and we're able to stand up. Thankfully, we have Frank Fox back in Mountbellew for the night.
"It was just pure workrate, that's what it came down to. We outworked them on the day, and that's why the result came."
“Pure work rate, that's what it came down to!” 👌
