Coverage of Gaelic Games is set to expand even further with the news that eir Sport has secured the rights to broadcast live football and hurling club championship matches for the next five years, starting from May 2017 with thirty games to be shown on the channel in the first year. It will include all rounds of club competition, from the early stages right through to the finals of competitions.
eir Sport has already received much praise for its coverage of the hurling and football leagues so far this year and the fact that it has thrown its weight behind the club championships will just add to the quickly-expanding range of games that can now be watched by GAA fans from the comfort of their own couches. Online streaming services have provided excellent coverage of the club championships this season alongside TG4's much-praised service. TG4 moved to clarify that the eir Sport deal would do nothing to change their own coverage:
Don't worry folks business as usual ar TG4. Doesn't affect us in any way #GAA #ClubChampionship

Eir Sport will also have rights to online clips from both club and inter-county championships as well as the inter-county leagues, and will be able to show replays of classic GAA matches.
