Dublin footballer Jonny Cooper was stabbed on Dorset St in the centre of Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
Na Fianna clubman Cooper (24) is in hospital with 'non-life threatening injuries'.
Gardaí are investigating the incident which occurred on Lower Dorset St at about 5:30 this morning.
A second stabbing took place in Blanchardstown. A man in his 20s is currently being treated in hospital for knife wounds.
Update (4.30pm) -
Cooper was released from the Mater hospital this afternoon. He sent a Tweet of thanks to his family, friends and well-wishers.
