Dublin GAA Pages Issue Strong Statement Against Connolly Chant Idea

The admins of the Dublin GAA Supporter and Hill 16 Army social media pages have come out strongly against the idea proposed by a fellow Dublin page, which sought to have fans chant Diarmuid Connolly's name in the 12th minute of the Mayo replay on Saturday.

In their statement they say:

We feel it would be disrespectful to the fantastic tribute we organised recently at HQ for the Harris Brothers as well as the 13th minute tribute to the young Mayo player who recently lost his life. Real Dublin supporters do not support a tribute of this nature and we feel this idea put forward is tacky and serves only to lower Dublin supporters reputation in the eyes of the rest of the country.

Too bloody right. Fair play to them for adding some perspective to this whole nonsense.
