Former Dublin underage star and St.Maur's talisman Ciaran Archer has had a 96-week ban overturned by Dublin GAA's CCC.
The ban had been proposed by the CCC when a referee's report alleged Archer has assaulted him during a Division Two club game between St.Maurs and Scoil Ui Chonaill. The incident occurred when Archer, the 2019 U20 footballer of the year had been red-carded late in a league game between St.Maurs and Scoil Ui Chonaill.
Archer and St.Maurs denied any allegations of assault and this week, Dublin GAA's CCC exonerated Archer on the basis that the contact was accidental.
Footage of the incident was first shared by Independent.ie.

The brilliant of Ciaran Archer
Archer's brilliance was on display in 2019, when he scored some memorable goals for the Dublin U20s and DCU.

Archer broke onto the GAA scene, shocking fans with his skill set when he won a Leinster U20 Championship with Dublin in 2019, as well as going all the way to the All-Ireland final only to agonisingly lose to Cork in the final. Despite Archer's initial success, he has struggled to break into the senior squad in the same way his U20s teammates David Hanlon and Daire Newcombe have.

Archer was featured a few times for Dublin in early 2022 in O'Byrne Cup and League action. The Independent reported that the star forward was considering giving up football should the ban have been upheld, in what would've been a huge loss for St.Maurs and football in the capital.
