Dublin are Leinster champions in the Electric Ireland GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship after a thrilling affair at O'Moore Park that saw an astonishing 13 goals. The final score was 7-12 to 6-19.
It is the fourth time in five years that the sides met in the final and a proud day for Dublin who were comfortably beaten by seven points last year. It was a victory driven by Dublin's dual stars as Luke Swan, Conor Murray and Liam Dunne all started today having been apart of the football squad that were shocked on Wednesday by Wicklow, while Sean Foran was on the bench. Swan bagged three goals, Dunne grabbed two and Murray got one in today's game.
Dublin had to fight to even make today's final, just overcoming Wexford 1-22 to 3-13 last time out. Today they started ominously with Conor Murray pointing after Swan forced a fine save from Jason Brennan.
George Murphy settled things for Kilkenny with a goal and Killian Hogan followed it up with another shortly after but Mike Connolly's side refused to panic. Dunne and Swan went to work and by half-time, they were within one with the score 4-8 to 3-10.
A lot of incredible performances on the pitch today, but a well-deserved Man of the Match award for Luke Swan! 💪 #UpTheDubs pic.twitter.com/i5vxAtaJjd
