The Castlebar Mitchels players fell to their feet, in what can only be described as complete heartbreak to lose the game.
For Westport, it was a mix of pure joy and relief, as they were seconds away from losing a game that they led for so long.
They will have the opportunity to win their first ever Senior county title, when they face Ballina Stephenites at the end of the month.
They defeated a Ballintubber side that contained both Cillian and Diarmuid O’Connor 3-10 to 1-13, with the club making their first county senior final appearance in 15 years.
