Donegal are set to take on Louth this weekend as the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship reaches the quarter-final stage in what has been an exciting championship. Here’s everything you need to know about Donegal v Louth.
For Donegal, they will be hoping to continue what has been a successful championship campaign so far and reach the All-Ireland semi-final for the first time since 2014. The Ulster champions got their Sam Maguire hunt underway with a 0-21 to 0-14 win over Tyrone at home before suffering a shock 3-09 to 0-16 defeat away to Cork in round two.
This left Jim McGuinness's side needing a big win over Clare in the final round-robin match to secure top spot in Group 3 and an automatic place in the quarterfinals. Donegal would do just that as a 2-23 to 0-05 battering of the Banner saw them finish above Cork and Tyrone on points difference.

In Louth's case, they will be hoping to continue what has been a historic championship for them so far and make their first All-Ireland semi-final since last winning the Sam Maguire back 1957. Ger Brennan's side made a great start to their All-Ireland campaign by beating their bitter rivals Meath 3-10 to 0-09 in Inniskeen before drawing away to Monaghan 2-10 to 2-10 in round two.
Despite a 2-21 to 1-10 loss to Kerry in round three, the Wee County would finish second in Group 4 on points difference over Monaghan. They would face Cork in Inniskeen for the preliminary quarterfinal, where a last-gasp Sam Mulroy free would give Louth a 1-09 to 1-08 win and secure the Wee County's first-ever All-Ireland quarter-final.
