It's as if Father Ted creeps into our lives every day now.
St Eunan's GAA Club were carrying out their annual Christmas draw during the week. These draws have become a staple amongst clubs across the country.
The Letterkenny based club had pulled out all the stops with a tombola and camera crew there to capture the events. It's a good thing they were recording.
Club chairman John Haran was carrying out the raffle with son Ollie as his helper. Little did they know that Ollie would produce a moment very reminiscent of Father Ted.
Ollie picked out a winner, "Eh, John Haran", he read as a flutter of embarrassment went over his Dad. Ollie wasn't too pleased with the dismissal.

"John Haran," he said again. "Dad, come on. Dad, if we won we won. Dad. I just took a lucky one." You have to feel for him but credit John's honesty.
Esme Byrne ended up being the winner of what we think were Gareth Brooks tickets. We have a sneaking suspicion that John will have to bring his son to Croke Park in September.
Father Ted Likeness
Donegal Daddy on TikTok shared a great clip (above) likening it to the Father Ted episode in Season 2 entitled Think Fast, Father Ted.
In that episode, Ted decides to host a raffle to raise funds for a leaky roof at the parochial house. They raffle a blue Rover as the top prize.
Unfortunately for Father Ted and co, they end up denting the rover and Ted's attempts to make it disappear only leave it in absolute ruin.
Left with no choice, Ted and Dougal attempt to fix the raffle by having them win it and walk away with a rented version from Father Finnegan.
Father Finnegan suffers a heart attack and they end up keeping the car, only to have the Spinmaster, Father O'Dwyer, steal the raffle money at the end.
And it all ends with lightning striking a tree and going through the parochial house. Well worth a watch.
