Diarmuid Duffy lifted the cup for Mayo on Monday evening after his side defeated Galway to win the county's 41st Connacht Minor Football Championship title.
It was the second major success in a matter of days for Duffy. On Saturday, at the National Schools Track and Field Championships in Tullamore, he won silver in the senior boys javelin for Ballinrobe Community School.

Duffy threw 56.05m in the final round, 2.66m shy of schoolmate Oisin Joyce who won gold. Last summer, Duffy won gold and Joyce silver in the under-17 javelin at the National Juvenile Track and Field Championships.
At MacHale Park in Castlebar on Monday evening, joint-captain Duffy started at wing-forward as Mayo defeated Galway 0-13 to 0-7 to claim the Connacht title. Mayo had won all four of their group stage games to qualify for the decider.
Mayo next face Kildare in the All-Ireland quarter-finals this weekend.
