Hold onto your hats, we may be in for a Diarmuid Connolly suspension saga after all.
It was widely reported over the weekend that Connolly would not be appealing against his 12-week ban handed down for making minor physical contact with linesman Ciaran Branigan during Dublin's Leinster quarter-final win against Carlow on June 3rd.
However, according to Cahair O'Kane in today's Irish News, the Dublin forward has launched an appeal against the ban. It is said that the Central Hearings Committee is expected to hear Connolly's appeal in the coming days.

On Radio One's Morning Ireland, Darren Frehill said he had attempted to contact both Dublin GAA and Croke Park regarding the report. However, he was unable to get a comment on the story.
If Connolly was to serve a 12-week ban, it would keep him out of action until August 27th. The St. Vincent's man would be available for an All-Ireland semi-final if Dublin took the direct route to the final four of the Championship.
Dublin's next outing in the Championship will be on June 25th when they take on the winner of Offaly and Westmeath's Leinster quarter-final replay.
