Gaelic football is like journalism or the manners of youth: always perceived to be sliding into crisis. Tyrone and Derry are going about blowing that to pieces with a defensively lax Derry performance stirring attacking performance by Tyrone. It's been so free-flowing, Martin Carney termed it 'total football', allowing Johan Cryuff to rest in peace, knowing his legacy is secure.
There has, however, been another import from that foreign game, as practised by Derry's Mark Lynch. Derry's centre-half Chrissy McKaigue was clotheslined by Tyrone's Richie Donnelly, and Lynch reacted by appealing to the referee, brandishing an imaginary yellow card in the process:
Donnelly was rightly yellow-carded, and many viewers were united in displeasure towards Lynch's antics:
Mark Lynch waving an imaginary card. No need for that horseshit.

Mark Lynch, no. Utterly despise corner-forwards brandishing imaginary yellow cards; crept into rugby too.

Mark Lynch's reaction to R Donnelly's tackle says everything about where Derry are mentally. Frantically waving an imaginary card at the ref
