In Westmeath's case, they will be looking to finally get a win in the championship following a couple of close defeats. The Lake County started their campaign with a trip away to Armagh where five Rory Grugan points made the difference as the home side would win 0-16 to 0-11.
In round two Dessie Dolan's side would face Galway at home in Mullingar, where a Shane Walsh goal would help give the away side a 1-12 to 0-11 win.
A win for either Derry or Westmeath would see them finish 3rd in group 1 and face an away preliminary quarter-final while a draw would allow Westmeath to qualify on points difference.
