There's always a lot that goes with having Davy Fitzgerald as your manager. One of those things is instant success. From bringing Waterford to an All-Ireland in his first few months, to takingClare from nowhere to an All-Ireland title in two seasons, Davy taking over your county brings excitement, the spotlight and a huge chance of silverware.
His performance so far in his new job has been incredible, and yesterday he secured promotion for Wexford to Division 1A of the Allianz League for the first time since the current format was adopted in 2012.
Not a bad start. It was a tumultuous time for Davy in Clare who eventually left the job back in September "with a heavy heart", despite winning the All-Ireland just three years before. He quickly resurfaced in Wexford though and is already in the process of doing what he did for Clare and bring them out of the doldrums.
A trawl through the Sportsfile archive shows just how much he's enjoying it all so far, while having lost absolutely none of his renowned passion and fire on the sideline.
