After two years of baffling underachievement, surprising and exciting news in Clare.
Donal Óg Cusack has joined Davy Fitzgerald's backroom team as a coach. Davy has welcomed Donal Og as well as Jimmy Payne and Aonghus O'Brien to the set-up.
Óg Cusack, RTE's most feted hurling pundit in the last three years, is an ardent admirer of Clare and their style of play, which bears some similarity to the style employed by Cork in the mid-2000s.
Óg Cusack confirmed he has been released from his contract at RTE.
Podge Collins has also been included in the provisional squad for next year.
