"You should see the brother!" is one of the great cliches in the GAA but it's rare that you hear it in reference to the older brother in the family. That's exactly what happened over the course of this year's club championships with David Clifford's older bother, Paudie, lighting up the Kerry County Senior Club Championship.
The Cliffords were part of an East Kerry side that defied the odds on multiple occasions to win their first senior county title in 20 years, with a 2-14 to 1-7 win over Dr Crokes in the final.

While David was also sublime throughout the championship, it was Paudie who put in a man of the match display in the final and according to Kerry's Eye, his performances have earned him a county call-up.
They report that Clifford - who won the All-Ireland Junior Championship with Kerry in 2018 - is one of a number of new players called into the training squad for the new season. The likes of Dr Crokes' Tony Brosnan is also rumoured to be part of the camp, with Kerry's Eye reporting a list of at least 11 new players here.
