Unsurprisingly, Kerry intercounty star David Clifford was the outstanding performer for UL Wolves in their Sigerson Cup victory over Letterkenny IT on Tuesday afternoon.
The latest clash to take place in the dramatic setting of the Connacht GAA Air Dome, the Sigerson Cup clash saw UL recover from an early deficit to charge to a decisive victory - and they could even have won by more if they had been more ruthless.

David Clifford stars in UL Sigerson Cup victory
David Clifford and his brother Paudie have been the posterboys of the Kerry intercounty football team for several years now. It is easy to forget that David will only be 23 this weekend, given his time at the top of the intercounty game.
He continues to put in shifts for UL, and Tuesday afternoon was no different. The Limerick college met Letterkenny IT in the second round of the Sigerson Cup, and Clifford and his teammates contributed to an entertaining and high scoring game.
Clifford opened the scoring, but it was Letterkenny who went into the first-half water break ahead, after scoring the game's first goal. By half-time, UL had fought back into the lead, defending a narrow one point advantage at the break.
It was in the second half that Clifford and co. really clicked into gear. Having scored 0-11 as a team in the first period, they motored ahead with 2-12 in the second, to finish the game on 2-23 to Letterkenny's 3-15.
A high scoring game - and David Clifford contributed both of the goals to UL's tally, with a scoring total of 2-7 (2-2 from play).
The win in Round 2B for UL gives them a shot at qualifying for the quarter-finals, and they will face one of the losing teams from Round 2A midweek next for a shot at the last eight.
David Clifford is firing and shows no sign of slowing up - news that will be music to the ears of Kerry fans, and will have rival fans on edge, as the Kingdom seek to bounce back from two years of championship disappointment.
