David Clifford's star was born a couple of years ago, today he merely confirmed that it will shine brightly for years to come. Clifford, under considerable pressure to deliver another All-Ireland minor title for Kerry today, killed the contest after ten seconds. He hit a goal before TG4 had time to display the scoreboard, and went on to outscore Derry by himself, scoring an absurd 4-4. And perhaps his best moment lay not in scoring, but creation: an outlandish kick pass for namesake Fiachra to score the third goal, a kick that took SIX Derry players out of the game.
A phenomenal performance that was naturally rewarded with the Man of the Match award, and here;s the post-match interview he gave to TG4's Micheal O'Domhnaill.

Fitting that the final ever minor is graced by perhaps the finest minor we have ever seen.
Clifford may be the first man to have a Laochra Gael before a senior career.
