The fitness of Galway's Daithí Burke continues to be a source of much speculation ahead of the All-Ireland semi-final today.

Burke was reported to have damaged his ankle in training earlier this week but was named to start against Clare while Micheál Donoghue told the Connacht Tribune that he was 'fine' to take part. Prior to the game, Donoghue claimed rumours were 'exaggerated' and that it was just a 'knock.'

However, Richie Hogan told RTE Sport he thought Burke, bearing a heavily strapped ankle, was slightly struggling in the warm-up.

Over on Sky Sports, pundit and former Galway hurler Ollie Canning suggested there was a question over whether Burke was '100% fit.'

Earlier in the week I heard he was definitely out. As the week went on, obviously with physio and what he has been doing on the physio table, they got him to a stage where he is 50/50 at this stage.

With the task of marking the in-form John Conlon ahead, Galway will need Burke at his best for today's challenge.
