David Caruso, Westmeath needs your help to solve a grisly mystery that only a real cop could solve. Tony Browne was signing autographs for his adoring young fans after Waterford's qualifier victory in Mullingar when he noticed his hurl had gone missing. This is not just an ordinary hurl as Browne explained to the Westmeath Topic newspaper. "I have been using it for a good few years now. It has my name, Tony Browne, on it and it has a black strap with no band on it. I would be very grateful if the hurl could be returned."
Horatio would not be happy to hear that the Waterford legend has gone against standard operating procedure for the Miami-Dade police department (MDPD) and offered a reward to anyone who can bring back the missing item. "I will give a signed Waterford jersey and a hurl to whoever can return my hurl." The MDPD team fear that such a reward from the Deise sex symbol could prompt an overload of phone calls, many of which will not be relevant to the investigation.
The Westmeath county board has also appealed to supporters and clubs for information to solve this mystery.
"If you or anyone in your club knows the whereabouts of the hurl, perhaps they would be good enough to return same to the office in Cusack Park, Mullingar and arrangements will be made to get the hurl to Tony Browne (Waterford). Thanking all Clubs in anticipation of their assistance in this matter," a statement read.
Or as Lt. Caine tells his suspects, 'You know what they say "You lie down with the Devil, you wake up in Hell".'
