Louth secured a big win yesterday, defeating neighbours Meath in a pulsating Division Two clash in Navan on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-12.
It was a game that both teams needed to win. The hosts needed a victory in order to keep within touching distance of the league leaders, while Micky Harte's side knew a win would help steer them away from possible relegation trouble.
Despite Meath being reduced to 14 men in the first half, they were the better side for much of the game. They led by five points in the closing stages, although the numerical disadvantage would eventually catch up with them.
Stunning Craig Lennon goal leads Louth to Meath comeback
Louth's comeback was sparked by Ciaran Downey, who scored three wonderful points in succession to move his side within one point of the opposition.
It was then topped off by a remarkable goal from substitute Craig Lennon.
After latching onto a loose opposition pass just outside his own 45, he would embark on a remarkable solo run up the field, one that would ultimately end with a wonderful dummy and finish into the net.
Sit back and enjoy this one.

Some going.
The commentary on local radio station LMFM summed up the moment brilliantly.

Louth would go on to win the match by three points, with that goal proving to be the difference between the sides.
Speaking after the game, Ciaran Downey was full of praise for his teammate after what was a remarkable solo effort.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a goal like it. To cover the distance and finish in the net like that, that’s magic, unreal stuff.
Anyone who knows Craig, you know how quick he is and his serious skillset but to have that killer instinct from there, another lad might have pulled up and took the point, but it was a badly-needed goal for us and it kicked us on.
Louth have now won two of their first four games, sitting fourth place in the division and level on points with Cork and Meath.
Considering how tight the table is at the moment, this could prove to be a huge moment come the end of the campaign.
