Corofin won the Clare intermediate football final at the weekend with a dramatic two-point victory over Kildysart.
Though, as the game ticked into injury time at the end of the second half with Kildysart holding a four-point lead, it looked as though they were going to win their first Clare IFC title since 2003.
However, two goals in 60 seconds - the first from Damien O’Loughlin and the second from Diarmuid Cahill - turned the game on its head.
Both goals came from turnovers forced by Corofin. 40 seconds into injury time, O'Loughlin intercepted a loose handpass in the Kildysart defence and fired a low shot to the net.
Another 40 seconds later, and Cahill - scorer of 1-4 on the day - won the ball from a tired Kildysart defence, played a handpassed one-two, and side footed the ball to a virtually empty net.
It was the final score of a game which finished 2-12 to 2-10.
"It's never over until the final whistle," Cahill told Clare GAA TV after the game.
"We said that at half-time, and at the second water break. We said we wouldn't give up, and we didn't.
"Damien now, he wouldn't be the best man for getting goals. To be fair, he had a serious game today. The finish was unreal. If you were a corner forward, you'd be proud of that one.
"We kept working. Thankfully, Gearóid got the ball, and I got on the end of it.
"We're back up to senior now."
O'Loughlin said Corofin learnt a lesson from last year's final.
"We were in a good position at half-time last year, six points up, and we just fell away, didn't know how to finish it off," he said.
"12 months later, we've been learning all year how to finish off games."
