Corofin won their first Galway senior football championship title in four years this afternoon as they defeated Moycullen by 1-11 to 1-07 at Pearse Stadium.
Moycullen, who had won two of the last three championships, came up short in their bid to retain the Frank Fox Cup despite their best efforts on the day.
A Corofin goal from centre-half forward Tony Gill proved to be all important in the end as Kevin Johnson's men won by a four point margin and claimed their 22nd county senior championship.

The goal came after a fantastic run forward by Man of the Match Liam Silke who hand passed the ball to Gill who finished cooly under pressure.
Liam Silke reacts to Corofin victory
"It's huge. A lot of people will think its been a few years or that, it feels like a long time for us especially when we are losing them having been close but it's great to have Frank Fox back in Corofin," Silke told Galway Bay FM after the match.
"It's great for the club and the younger players especially for those who are coming through, I think its biggest for them.
"A lot of us who have been around for a few years have had a lot of success and no what it feels like so its great to give the younger lads a bit of a taste of that."
Captain Dylan McHugh had a message to his clubs supporters in his speech after lifting the cup.
"You've been with us on very good days and over the last four years a lot of very bad days but you've stuck by us. If I could ask one thing from you, get home now, light the bonfires and give Frank Fox the welcome home he deserves."
Corofin will have a bit of time to enjoy the celebrations before they head into provincial action.
They will meet the winners of Ballina Stephenites and Fulham Irish in the Connacht semi-final in two weeks time.
Ultimately they will be looking to return to the top table and win the All-Ireland senior club football championship, having won three in a row between 2018 and 2020.
