Laura Hayes was named the PwC Camogie Player of the Year at the awards ceremony in Croke Park on Friday night on a banner night for the Rebels.
The PwC camogie team of the year was also named, with Cork leading the way following their triumph, with eight All-Stars.
Ger Manley named PwC Camogie manager of the year after winning an All-Ireland in his first season managing Cork.
Cork defeated Galway in the All-Ireland final back in August with Katrina Mackey’s goal proving the difference between the sides.
Hayes and her Cork team-mate Saoirse McCarthy were nominated for the player of the year award along with Galway’s Aoife Donohue.
Hayes, the flying half back from the St Catherine's club in East Cork, is a key member of the Cork team, a dominant presence in their half back line who runs with pace and power at opposition teams.
Meanwhile, Danielle Morrissey of Kilkenny was named as the intermediate player of the year with Clodagh Tynan of Laois winning the award in the junior grade.
The Soaring Stars team of the year was also named on Friday evening, and it is as follows.
- Cliona Murphy – Kilkenny (Goalkeeper)
