It's no secret that Limerick are on course to create history and have blown away all their opponents so far on the way to doing so - but they have a mighty task on their plate in the All-Ireland semi-final. Here's everything you need to know about Cork v Limerick.
After starting the Championship campaign with defeats to Waterford and Clare, successive wins over Limerick, Tipperary, Offaly and Dublin have revived Cork's season, setting them up for their first semi-final in three years.
There's a steely look in the eyes of many of their star men, Declan Hannon, Diarmuid Byrnes, Kyle Hayes to name a few.
The Challenge
Cork stand in Limerick's way of reaching their 6th final in seven seasons and judging by their performances and results this season, the Rebels have a real chance of coming out on top over John Kiely's men on Sunday afternoon.
Cork manager Pat Ryan told the Irish Examiner about the excitement in the squad ahead of the weekend's showdown:
Really, really looking forward to it. This is what makes the wet, winter days down in Mallow in the middle of November, December, and January all worthwhile. Lads are embracing it, can't wait to get there.
The Rebels will not be lacking in belief having come out on top by two points in the sides' breathtaking clash earlier this summer. On that day, Patrick Horgan top scored with 1-11 and he'll need to be in similar scoring form to get Cork over the line on Sunday.
Limerick's ability to get scores from all over the pitch may be crucial in deciding the winner coming down the home stretch of this one.
Limerick will again be favourites for Sunday afternoon's match and rightly so, they haven’t lost in Croke Park since that 2019 semi-final defeat to Kilkenny.
It is no surprise that Croke Park is expected to be close to a full house with a huge number of Limerick and Cork fans expected to get behind their respective counties this weekend.
