The people of Ballyhaunis were treated to an absolutely rip-roaring Connacht senior ladies final today as Carnacon drew with Kilkerrin/Clonberne 5-17 to 6-14.
Carnacon's Cora Staunton, who recently announced a deal to play ladies AFL next year, was the star of the show. Staunton landed a sensational 4-13.
It was an astonishing performance as she strove to secure her 16th Connacht title. Carnacon have won 19 of the last 20 Mayo county titles.

Great Western Sydney Giants coach Alan McConnell credited Staunton's commitment to the club during the announcement of her signing. McConnell told the Irish Times
She is a very loyal woman and doesn’t want to let down her club or her county, and we are fortunate that our season allows that to happen. We have been waiting to have her come out here now for many months.
The replay will take place next Sunday, with a throw-in time and venue to be confirmed.
