GAA players came out in force on Twitter in response to Colm O'Rourke's article about the GPA in last weekend's Sunday Independent where the Meathman was highly critical of the organisation.
O'Rourke used this weekend's column to again write about the GPA. He said that he had intended to take up a different topic until he learnt of a text message which he says was sent by a member of the GPA to several county representatives.
Here's the text message where he's referred to as a "Meath Fcker":
Boys, Colm O'Rourke is having a serious cut off the GPA today, I'm going to send you on a small graphic showing what we have done this year, anything you can do on twitter in response greatly appreciated! Meath Fcker!
Former Tyrone player Philip Jordan did speculate that there may have been some organisation behind the Twitter outrage towards O'Rourke.
Don't agree with everything Colm O'Rourke said in column today, but a lot right in it as well. Did GPA tell members to slate him on Twitter?

The RTE analyst went onto say that he had been offended by the message and wondered if it had been sanctioned by GPA CEO Dessie Farrell. He also noted that Farrell had made no mention of the text when the two spoke on the phone last week.
