It's the first time since 2017 that neither Kilkenny or Limerick will contest the All Ireland senior hurling championship final and what a battle we have to look forward to. Here's everything you need to know ahead of Clare v Cork.

Cork are looking for their 30th title after the longest stretch without winning one in their history. Both teams met in the 2013 final, with Clare winning after a replay.

It has been a thrilling journey to the hurling showpiece for both counties. Last time out, Clare came through a titanic tussle with Kilkenny after a massive second-half performance having been five points down at half-time.

With a record of five wins and two losses, they have shown resilience throughout the championship and could've easily thrown in the towel in the first half of their semi-final.

The form of player of the year hopeful Shane O'Donnell has been a really positive for the Banner, the Eire Og man has been in electric form all year and will have his sights set on picking up his 2nd all Ireland winners medal on Sunday.

The rebels ended Limerick's "Drive for five" in the semi final and the confidence that will give their panel ahead of their first final since 2021 will be huge.

Having come 3rd in this years Munster championship round robin, Cork will want to reverse the 2 point defeat to Clare in April.

Cork stalwart Patrick Horgan will be crucial to the rebels chances of lifting Liam McCarthy on Sunday and the Glen Rovers man has 5-62 to his name so far this summer.

When is Clare v Cork?

Clare are set to take on Cork this Sunday July 21st at Croke Park with throw-in scheduled for 3.30pm. If the game is a draw a replay will take place on August 3rd.

How to watch Clare v Cork?

The match will be live on RTÉ2 with coverage getting underway at 2.15pm.

Team news

Clare have announced the same 15 that began the All-Ireland semi-final win over Kilkenny for Sunday’s All-Ireland final.

Recalled for the semi final win over Kilkenny and justifying it with 10 points, freetaker Aidan McCarthy remains in the side.

Cork have also named the same starting 15 for Sunday’s All-Ireland final as that which beat Limerick in the semi-final a fortnight ago.

The only difference for the final clash is that Ciarán Joyce wears number 5, swapping with Tim O’Mahony, who is given 8.
