For the third consecutive year, Clare and Kilkenny will battle it out in the last four for a place in the sports showpiece on July 21st. Here's everything you need to know about Clare v Kilkenny.
The stakes couldn't be higher for both counties and, if last year's match is anything to go by, we are in for a cracking match in Croke Park on Saturday evening.
Kilkenny have had the upper hand against Clare at this stage over the past two seasons but the battle-hardened Banner men will no doubt fancy their chances.
In their previous nine championship meetings, Kilkenny have dominated with seven wins, one draw with Clare’s lone victory dating back to the 1997 All-Ireland semi-final. This historical dominance by Kilkenny adds extra pressure on Clare to change the narrative in this crucial match.

The year-to-date
Kilkenny secured their semi-final spot as Leinster champions, while Clare advanced as the beaten Munster finalists and All-Ireland quarter-final winners defeating Wexford.
With a record of four wins and two losses, Clare have shown resilience throughout the championship. Kilkenny remain the only unbeaten team in this year’s championship, with four wins and two draws.
However, Clare have shown promising form against Kilkenny this season, winning both encounters. They triumphed 0-19 to 0-16 in the Allianz League group game in Ennis and secured a 3-16 to 1-20 victory in the league final in Thurles.
The Cats know championship is different and captain TJ Reid has scored a combined 22 points against Clare at this stage over the past two seasons. If Clare can somehow nullify his influence on the game, it will go a long way to helping them reach their first final since 2013.
