Cillian O'Connor has returned to the Mayo squad for their crucial round 3 qualifier against Armagh in MacHale Park later today.
The Ballintubber forward has not played for Mayo so far this season. Speaking after their victory over Down last week, James Horan did state that O'Connor would be "pushing for inclusion" this week. He also dismissed rumours that O'Connor had been omitted for disciplinary reasons.
O'Connor's absence has been widely discussed in recent weeks as it approaches almost seven months without playing a full game. The 27-year-old had an operation on his knee last December.
However, O'Connor has been included in the 26 for today's clash. Mayo named their team earlier this week featuring four changes. James Carr, Jason Doherty, Ciaran Treacy, Evan Regan, Darren Coen, Colm Boyle, Eoin O'Donoghue, Caolan Crow and Rob Hennelly are also on the bench.
It's a big boost for Horan's charges who are without Diarmuid O'Connor and Tom Parsons for Saturday evening's clash.
