Form and team news

Cavan have already produced one of the biggest shocks of the championship summer. In the preliminary round, the Breffni County travelled to Clones to face Monaghan, All-Ireland semi-finalists in 2023. In a major upset, Cavan ran out 3-12 to 1-12 winners.

Both sides endured mixed league campaigns, with Tyrone finishing in 5th in Division One, and Cavan missing out on promotion from Division Two by finishing 7th.

The last time these two sides met in the Ulster championship was at this stage in 2021. On that occasion, Tyrone ran out comfortable 1-18 to 0-13 victors on their way to a fourth All-Ireland triumph.

Cavan have named an identical starting XV to that which defeated Monaghan in the preliminary round.
