The undisputed champions on the relegation have done it again leading from the off Ballinahinch showed their fighting spirit and got in front just as the 60th min approached but Ballybacon deservedly came back to win— Hurling man (@man_hurling) September 24, 2022
Ballybacon/Grange had led by a goal at half-time but Ballinahinch fought back, and held a two-point advantage during the second half. However, a goal by Luke O’Brien and Cummins's point saved Bally's bacon.
Last year, in a relegation semi-final against Arravale Rovers, Cummins scored 10 points, and saved three penalties in a shootout, as his side avoided the intermediate trapdoor.
Cummins, a two-time All-Ireland winning goalkeeper with Tipperary, retired from inter-county hurling aged 38 in 2013.
This year, he managed the Tipperary U20 hurling team to the Munster final this season where they lost to Limerick.
Shannon Rovers face Carrick Davins on Sunday in the other relegation semi-final.
