Big Names In Line For Railway Cup Games With TV Details Revealed

The new football rules will be trialled this Friday and Saturday in a Railway Cup style competition.

Led by Jim Gavin, the Football Review Committee have presented a number of significant changes to the game, with the first run-out taking place this weekend.

The action will take place across Friday and Saturday, with inter-county managers Padraic Joyce (Connacht), Dessie Dolan (Leinster), John Cleary (Munster) and Kieran Donnolly (Ulster) in charge of the respective squads.

TG4 will broadcast Friday's action live, their coverage beginning at 5.30 before a 6.00 throw-in for Leinster v Connacht.

This will be followed by the clash of Munster and Ulster at 8.00, with RTÉ taking over for Saturday's coverage.

Saturday

17:30 Allianz GAA Football Inter-Provincial Series

  • 18:00 Leinster vs Connacht
  • 20:00 Munster vs Ulster

Sunday

Railway Cup fixtures and TV details

  • 5:30pm: Losing semi-finalist 1 v Losing semi-finalist 2 (Croke Park, live on RTÉ)
  • 7:30pm: Railway Cup final (Croke Park, live on RTÉ)

The rules require approval before coming into effect for the 2025 season, with this weekend's action having a big part to play.

Full official squad list haven't yet been revealed though some big names are already confirmed, eager to get the opportunity to try their hand at the new rules ahead of the 2025 season.

Leinster

Connacht

  • Enda Smith (Roscommon)
  • Aidan O'Shea (Mayo)
